TrueBoard

TrueBoard support

TrueBoard learns where your fingers land and adapts each key’s hit zone. A tap just left of D can still be D. It is not mainly a word-learning keyboard.

Tap positions and per-key offsets stay on your iPhone, iPad, and paired Apple Watch. They are never uploaded, and they are never collected from password, email, or other sensitive fields.

Set up the keyboard

  1. Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → TrueBoard.
  2. Tap TrueBoard and turn on Allow Full Access. Typing works without it, but the keyboard cannot use your calibration until it is on. TrueBoard uses Full Access only to read and write the fit on that device. It does not send what you type anywhere.
  3. In Notes or Messages, hold the globe and choose TrueBoard.

Calibration

The app asks you to type five sentences on TrueBoard’s keyboard. Each accepted tap is compared with the letter you were asked to type, and that sets the starting offset for the key.

You can retake or reset calibration in Settings. Retake replaces the starting offsets. Reset clears them. After calibration, words you leave as typed nudge those offsets a little. A tap you delete right away is not learned.

Suggestions

Above the keys, TrueBoard can show up to three words. The word you typed stays in the row. The correction it would apply is highlighted. Tap a word to insert it. Tap the word you typed to keep that spelling. TrueBoard remembers up to 200 spellings you chose to keep. It does not keep a history of the other suggestions.

Emoji is a key on TrueBoard’s own bottom row, next to 123. The strip under the keyboard is left for iOS.

Watch

The Apple Watch app types, runs the same kind of calibration, and can save a note to the paired iPhone. The fit can sync between the watch and the iPhone. It is not uploaded.
